Giving Back to the Community
Community Matters
At Furniture & ApplianceMart, we pride ourselves on making our communities a better place for all of us to live. As a local family and employee-owned and operated company, one of our most important corporate responsibilities is giving back to the communities we serve. Each year, Furniture & ApplianceMart gives to hundreds of charitable organizations and events in central, northern, and eastern Wisconsin. We’re proud to support organizations like Marshfield Clinic, Lakeland Food Pantry, New Community Shelter in Green Bay, River Food Pantry in Madison, and so many more.
The Fore a Cure Event
In 2004, Furniture & ApplianceMart created the Fore a Cure golf outing to benefit Marshfield Clinic's breast cancer and juvenile diabetes care programs: two diseases that have had a personal effect on the Fonti family. The Fore a Cure golf outing is held annually, and has helped raise $1.7 Million for the Marshfield Clinic. The money raised has helped the Marshfield Clinic with beast cancer research, juvenile diabetes prevention, the child advocacy center, and the mobile mammography units at the clinic. Today, three mobile mammography units have been bought and paid for using funds from this event.
Toys for Tots Shop
An annual 1-night shopping spree was held at the local Fleet Farm in Stevens Point, WI. All of the gifts purchased were transported from Fleet Farm to the Toys for Tots drop off, and then sent off to kids so they had something nice under the tree on Christmas morning. Over the last 10 years, the Fonti family has worked with friends, community leaders, and business owners to raise more than $80,000 in gifts for the kids of Wisconsin. To date, these donations have helped over 8,000 kids receive gifts on Christmas.
Furniture Donations
Since 2011, more than 12 truckloads of furniture has been donated to St. Vincent de Paul in Green Bay, WI. The furniture donations included upholstery, bedroom, dining room furniture, and more. St. Vincent de Paul was chosen because 100% of the profits from the organization go back to the programs they serve.
