Human Resources Assistant
Boston Inc. dba Furniture & ApplianceMart/Ashley Furniture HomeStores has an opening for a Human Resources
Assistant. This is a part-time position that will work between 24 - 30 hours per week, based out of our Distribution
Center at 2917 Business Park Dr. in Stevens Point.
Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Timely processing and administration of benefits with various carriers and employees
- Screen, direct and answer incoming calls for the department in a professional and courteous manner
- Schedule candidates for interviews with employment staff which may include coordinating travel arrangements
- Coordinate with employment and communications staff on the posting of positions in a timely and accurate manner
- Review and process new hire paperwork for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with I-9 and W-4 requirements
- Prepare and maintain applicant and employee files ensuring employment paperwork is filed accurately and timely
- Compile new hire orientation packets and other miscellaneous paperwork
- General data entry into various systems
- Back up support for new hire orientations
- Back up support for the interview process
Qualifications include:
- Proven communication skills
- Skilled in managing and accurately processing a volume of confidential employee/applicant information.
- Use of judgment and problem-solving skills when dealing with employees/management in sensitive and confidential situations.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple tasks while working independently.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills required.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- Minimum six months clerical or administrative experience required preferably in human resources
